Who we are
My name is Derrae and Xi Elle’s Angels is my braiding service that caters to kids/teens ages 5 to 17.
The name, Xi Elle, is a dedication to my daughter whose name is Neah Xielle. (Pronounced “Zye-Elle”)
I have been a home-based and state registered hair braider in Kansas City, MO since 2018.
I have loved to do hair since I was in the 2nd grade and what I love more than doing hair is the satisfaction of seeing my clients look and feel beautiful after every service!
I believe that you should book with me because I am patient and I genuinely care about the client’s experience. I value integrity over anything and I would never jeopardize the health of your child’s hair and scalp. My goal with every client is to help retain the length of the hair by using gentle hair care practices and educating the client and parent on ways to maintain their braids and keep the hair healthy in between installs.
Is braiding hair included in services?
Braiding hair is NOT provided with services, and clients are asked to bring their own braiding hair. These are the brands that I prefer to use and where to find them:

What should I bring to my appointment?
Clients are only asked to bring their own braiding hair and hair accessories to their appointment. Other than that, you’ll need to bring any items that will keep the client happy and comfortable. This includes but not limited to headphones, homework, laptop, snacks, drinks, tablet, phone, chargers, books, blanket, coloring book, etc.
Where are you located?
We are located in Downtown, Kansas City, MO. You will receive an email with the address and detailed parking instructions after your appointment has been made.
Do you shampoo hair?
All children’s services include a complimentary shampoo and blow dry service. Clients are asked to come with their hair fully detangled. Clients will be charged a take-down fee if the child arrives with a previously installed hairstyle.
